Biography
Hi everyone! My name is Sophia Adeghe and I’m a sophomore in CC studying Economics and on the premed track. I’m originally from Brooklyn but grew up in Pennsylvania. After serving as Vice President of Finance last year, I’m excited to continue in this position. I am looking forward to welcoming students back and increasing club funding to make up for lost time.

Making the COVID-19 Academic Adjustments Permanent Pass/fail deadline always at the end of the semester
Pass/fail one additional major class
Pass/fail one core class
Moving the CC deadline later to be in line with the SEAS drop deadline (in November vs. in October)
Diversify CPS outside referral service Helping students return from medical leave by creating a system where they could opt-in to be paired with CPS counselors or other students in similar situations to ease their transition back into
Columbia Financial Accessibility:
Expanding CCSC’s Metrocard Initiative, increasing it from being 6 swipes once a year, to 6 swipes twice a semester
Subsidizing off campus events, including tickets to shows, movies, museums, sports games, and more
Institutionalizing CCSC’s winter break meal program, which provides FLEX dollars for low incomes students staying on campus for winter break
Institutionalizing CCSC’s Resources Fund, which purchases a variety of items for low incomes students, from iPads to professional clothing
Continuing work with Scott Wright and the Deans Offices to implement a plan that would make textbooks both affordable and accessible to all

Creating a buddy program for the Class of 2024 to help ease their transition into campus life
